This extensive research paper was written for the course Music History from Antiquity to 1750 at Indiana University. Very little scholarship exists on this topic and it was my most difficult research paper to date.

Evolcaytion

Co-written by Jesse and friend and fellow drummer Bill Leather, Evolcaytion (Evolution & Decay) is a piece based on the dueling drummers concept but with a crazy twist! Instead of staying seated, the piece utilizes 5 duplicate stations and the players move around the room accordingly. After playing the entire piece, the players then play it backwards before moving to the ending. Click here to listen to the piece.
