Clapping Music for Solo Percussionist

In 2004 I had the opportunity to sit down with friend and former teacher Glenn Kotche (of Wilco) who introduced me to his version of Steve Reich's "Clapping Music" which was recently released on his third solo offering Mobile. Glenn's version peaked my interest in the piece and I decided to make my own arrangement. It was given its world premiere on April 18, 2004 on the campus of Indiana University. Glenn subsequently mentioned this arrangement as a "tour de force" in an article he wrote for Percussive Notes magazine. Clapping Music is arranged for solo percussionist playing an array of drums, cymbals, pitched percussion, and a multitude of accessories.
